Lo-Fi @ Common
Had a great time at Lo-Fi at Common in Manchester with the gals (and guys) from the Manchester Craft Mafia today. It was my first time and I wasn't disappointed. There was a lot going on from great food and wine, followd by Show & Tell, the Christmas Decoration competition, Secret Santa (my prize was a fab handmade chopping board for veggies...most apt...and I'm very impressed with it. The gift I brought was one of my new cute doggy brooches with a wooly scarf and went to a very lovely lady, who I think had brought the gorgeous candle, my daughter received. The Christmas Quiz which our team won (yay), was helped I thinkthat our age groups age span was prtty varied. We all won some yummy chocs. It was lovely to meet some new people, Nerissa and Cherry who were in out quiz team. Really tired now so that'll be good night from me!

Cheesy Chips & WIne
On Sunday, we had an amazing time at The Baum, Rochdale.
What could be better than time spent doing a Craft fair with your mates in your favourite, local, award winning pub eating cheesy chips and wine...and the odd pot of tea thrown in.
I was joined on this occasion by the following fine people who brought along some amazing handmade goods.
Thanks to The Baum for having us for the second time this year.
Busy! Busy! Busy!
The last few weeks have been mad and a couple of nights instead of beavering away in my attic (which is my studio and hideaway) I've found mhyself falling asleep on the sofa! However, after a late start today, I've got my latest batch of orders in the oven...plus...some new Christmas Decorations and new dog brooches. I was lucky enough to snaffle (is that a word?) up some wonderful cutters in one of my favourite local shops last week and combined with some stamps I found at the bottom of one of my numerous drawers, I'm hoping they'll turn out fab!
Last Friday, I attended the North West Women's Enterprise Event in the heart of Cheshire which was truly inspirational. I got to hear the Olympian Diane Modahl speak...she has amazing arms!!! I also met a couple of ladies from the Girl Guiding Association which was really lovely. I was a Brownie, a Guide, a Ranger and a Brownie and Guide Leader in my youth and I think it's true to say...once a Girl Guide, always a Girl Guide. However, there was a fantastic speaker who instilled in us that we were all fabulous but also said "you are what you eat", in which case on Tuesday I was a Manchester Tart!!!
I was at the Craft Street Fayre for the second time on Saturday, it's a new local craft fair for local people...in our local shopping centre. They did some filming the first time and I was lucky to be featured in it...check me out (I was making holly earrings, which are available from all my events coming up to Christmas)

Co-op Tastic Autumn Fair
Well, I'm really looking forward to being at this event next week. Though, now the weather's turning a bit chilly, I'm wondering "what was I thinking". However, we may be lucky and we may get the sun.
I'll be bringing a selection of jewellery, my bottole top magnets, my Little Craft Box Company Craft Kits, my hanging hearts and the Make Your Own Personalised Bracelets. I've just got a stash of number beads too, so that you can make a bracelet with your mobile number for your child's wrist in case (heaven forbid) they get lost.
See you there!

Friday, 14 September 2012
I've been having a very busy September so far and more events to come. See the Events page for details. A bit of a disaster at the moment as my Oven has given up after 25 years trusty service, so I have to replace it, but I can't do that until next week so there'll be no new beads, hearts or badges until that happens. However, I have a HUGE bead stash and so I'm going to start using some of those today and make some new pieces. Hopefully the weather will brighten a bit so I can take photos using the natural light. In the meantime, here's a photo of the sort of thing I'll be making. This one is currently on sale in my Etsy Shop or from the Events I'm attending and comes with matching earrings.

Crafts & Boules at The Baum
Had a great day at The Baum today. What can be better than doing a Craft Fair at your favourite pub, while eating cheesy chips, drinking Koppaburg Pear Cider and making a few bob too. Best sellers today were my handfinished knitting needles, pig and panda stitch savers and the Make Your Own Necklaces. The Bottle top magnets went down well too....not as well as the cider...scrummy!

New Hanging Hearts
Just about to list these new hanging hearts on Etsy!
Made from polymer clay, with gold lettering, these beautifully embossed hearts have gold lettering with inspirational words. They hang from cotton cord.
I could also make these with a word or name of your choice...within reason...hearts are only so big...infact, they're approxmately 6cm.

Back To My Polymer Clay Roots

So here we have tiny window pendants with yellow or red roses trailing round the frame, white lace curtains and a mirror at the back. A silver aanraku bail is attached to hang from a chain around your neck or a short cord if you wish to hang it on your wall.
I love pigs and sheep and these are adorable worn on your coat or cardigan. Or pin a basket of flowers to your collar if you prefer.
New "Pure and Simple" Pendants

Some are embossed with a filigree design, some have a tiny daisy, star or heart added and the square ones have a shape cut out which has been filled with gold.
Shapes measure approximately 1 1/2" in length.
These can be customised to include a word or name of your choice, depending on the length. (There's only so much room!)
New "Pure and SImple" Hanging Hearts

The hearts measure approximately 2 1/2 " and are embossed with a filigree design and then stamped with gold lettering. They hang from white cotton cord.
These can be customised to include a word or name of your choice, depending on the length. (There's only so much room)

Beads From The Art
I am an Artisan Bead & Jewellery Designer from the North West of England specialising in polymer clay. When I'm not making beads I'm a juggler of children, work and life in general. My inspirations comes from art (particularly Klimt, Van Gogh and Matisse) and the natural world and universe around us.
I like using polymer clay as it is such a versatile medium and is not heavy to wear. When making jewellery, I like to mix it with other materials such as glass beads, tibetan silver, lampwork glass, crystals and brass components etc.
I am hoping to add new items regularly but I hope you like what you see so far.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you, Andrea
